Mischievous Bulldog

Bulldogs are one of the greatest pets if you have a lot of time to devote to the animal. They are well-behaved, protective and a great family animal. However, if a bulldog doesn’t get enough attention from his owners, he can go from bad to worse in a very short amount of time. While I’m sure not every single solitary bulldog has completed some of these destructive acts, from the stories I’ve heard, many have.

According to one story I heard, the owners made the mistake of leaving their bulldog home while they went away for the weekend. They left a large self-feeder dish and water bowl so that he wouldn’t run out. They also had a large doggie door and a fenced in yard so the dog could come and go as he pleased. Well, while he was generally a wonderfully behaved dog, when they came home, their house was absolutely trashed. The stuffing was ripped from the couch and cushions, shoes were chewed up, things were knocked down- it was an absolutely mess.

From what I’ve gathered when reading about this particular breed, bulldogs are great, but only for those who have a lot of time to devote to them. When they are left alone for long hours or don’t get the attention they seek, the bulldog will become destructive in order to gain the attention they are looking for. So, if your someone whose thinking about getting a bulldog, be sure you have a lot of time to spend with it and if you’re going away for the weekend- find a sitter.
